The CAL is at an End

Sharing is caring!

Can you believe it! That is the Crochet A Long at it’s end! I cannot get over it. It has really been an amazing few weeks and I have loved seeing everyone’s blankets come to life.

Not only that but we made it in record temperatures, but then we are a dedicated crochet lot aren’t we?

I have made the pattern into one complete version for you so you have it all in once place.  I really hope that you have enjoyed this journey with me and that it won’t be our last together.  Thank you also for showing off all your wonderful pieces in Flo’s Crafty Crochet group on Facebook.  Please continue to share whatever it is you’re working on because I want you to feel that this is your group as much as it is mine.

Sharing is caring, lets spread the word

BORDER

To make a cluster stitch: *Yarn over, insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through 2 loops on the hook*.  Repeat * * 5 times. You will have 6 loops on your hook. Yarn over a final time and draw through all 6 loops.

The bobble border is created by; chain 9, cluster stitch into the 4th chain from the hook. Once the 1st cluster has been made, chain 3 and work a 2nd cluster stitch into the top of the first. Once completed join to the base of the first cluster stitch with a slip stitch.  Chain 5.

Edging border will depend on your own stitch size and tension. Work your stitches evenly and use the edge of the stitches as your guide.   If you find that your edge is ruffling please go down a half a hook size to ensure the edge sits correctly.

Row 1:  3 SC in the first ST, SC in each ST along the top edge, 3 SC in the last ST (163) SC in each ST evenly down the side of the blanket. (269 SC)  Working along the bottom edge, begin with 3 SC in the corner,  SC in each ST across placing 3 ST in last ST (163 SC) Working along the last unworked edge, ST evenly up the side of the blanket (269 SC) Join with a SL ST to the 1st SC and finish off (864 SC in total)

With the wrong side facing. Join with white in any ST.

Row 2: CH1 (does not count as ST) SC into same ST as CH1, *CH 9, CL into the 4th CH from the hook.  CL into the CL just made.  SL ST to base of 1st CL.  CH 5. SK 3 ST, SC into next ST* Rep * * to the end.  F/O weave in all ends

And that’s all folks! Don’t forget if you purchase the premium version you will have the whole pattern in one handy place together with photo instructions for the border 🙂
