I have been MIA from the 26th September from Flo’s Crafty Crochet. While I do not want to discuss my personal life on the internet, I will just say that the events of the past 6 weeks for me have been life changing. My life will never be the same again. This has directly impacted Flo’s Crafty Crochet. My passion for the craft has vanished overnight and after a hugely successful CAL that so many of you seemed to really enjoy I felt I had abandoned you all and left you in limbo.
However Sue, my crochet buddy from Auburncraft Crochet Design was speaking over the last while along with a regular frtom my past crochet classes (Yes, Lynda, you x) And they are right, I should not just let this fall away. I have worked so hard to build Flo’s Crafty Crochet up from the get go and it is something that in normal times I love and get so much from.
So today I spent a little time making some new sets of stitch markers. You can find them direct here or on Etsy here. But I also have picked up my crochet hook.
I have been making my gloves over and over for a few weeks now but today for the first time when making the sets my mind turned back to designs that had been on the back burner and I thought, you know what, maybe I can do this. My life may be in utter turmoil but the peace that crochet brings really is unique and that chance for mindfulness at this moment is paramount for me.
So I’ve got my hook out and my notes and I’ve picked up a Hobbii yarn cake that I have had for an age and I am going to see where this takes me. To see has my creativity left along with all that I thought that I knew. Hopefully not, hopefully this will be the beginning of new and better things.
Oh yeah and before I go, another thing popped into my head when I was picking up the Hobbii yarn. Maybe a spring time CAL. I think I had tried one before but obviously I am a bit more experienced now, ha! We will see, I don’t want to jump too far ahead before I am ready to walk again. I hope that as I get stronger that I will be back as involved on social media etc because I do miss the interaction with you all, but I am still there keeping an eye.
Thank you also to everyone for the amazing support you have shown me over the past number of weeks. That has taken so much of the pressure off me and made me feel not quite as alone. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
