PART 8 – Pumpkin

Sharing is caring, lets spread the word

This Crochet A Long is completely free on my blog only.  You will be able to follow along with all 9 instalments.  Or alternatively you can buy the pretty, printable, premium PDF to add to your pattern collection while supporting a small business owner.  You will also get automatic email updates of when the next part of the CAL is released.  If you are following the blog, you will need to keep checking the page on the dates for its release rather than being notified.

Why should I buy the PDF version?

This is a question that I get asked A LOT.  So, I will try my best to let you know why I think the PDF trumps the web version.

  • Printable. Easy to manage and print out so you can take with you anywhere.

  • No ads anywhere.

  • It is pretty. I do spend a little time trying to get it to look just right so that not only do you have the functional pattern but it’s nice to look at also.

  • You get both US and UK terminology.

  • It supports me and enables me to continue to create content for you to enjoy.

  • For this CAL you will get automatic updates for each live part.

  • At the end of the CAL you will get a combined PDF

Click the button below to buy your own copy now. It’s just $3.75 USD or £3 GBP!

I really don’t want to buy the PDF version.

That’s ok, I totally understand and best of all, you don’t have to.  You can still make the whole wreath from the free version of the pattern on my website!

I don’t want to buy anything BUT I want to support you, is that possible?

Yes! Very much so and I am very much grateful for this.  You can share the website with your crochet friends.  Share your makes on Facebook Groups and on Instagram and mention me.  Word of mouth is the very best way to help support me and get the Flo’s Crafty Crochet name out there. I also have a Buy Me A Coffee button at the bottom of the page which is literally just that, the equivalent of buying me a drink lol

Where can I buy the PDF?

You can buy the PDF by clicking the button below but also on:-

Ravelry and Etsy

You can also keep up to date with everything that is going on in Flo’s Crafty Crochet’s world by following Flo’s Crafty Crochet on Facebook.  You can also join my dedicated group on Facebook. It is a great group to come and share your makes or ask any questions you may have.

Thank you as always for supporting me every step of the way.

We are now on onto the penultimate part of the Autumn Wreath CAL. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone for taking part. I am looking forward to seeing all the finished items over the coming days in my Facebook group. I am also hoping to run a giveaway to end the CAL over there, I just haven’t settled on the prize or how to award it yet, but I know that participation in the group will definitely be a factor as those pictures really do brighten my day and the wonderful fall colours are so pretty to see.

A very quick note also. Etsy are running an offer this week that gives £5 off every order and they are footing the bill and if you use this link I will get 4% back on my fees so it is a win win! Finally they are listening to us. Use code GET5 for your money off . My Etsy is here

One more thing before the pumpkin…..

I have been working on a few things in the background but my testers have been slaving away to get my latest blanket out to you and it is almost ready! It is going to be called ‘Going Through the Motions’. There was a tough time with this blanket and I think the name is apt. I lost my love for crochet during this period. Really the blanket should have been released last October but anyway….. so for those of you who love a sneaky peek, here is one just for you. More details on this are coming soon, just make sure you are signed up for my newsletter as you will have a lovely launch day discount code in there.

3.5mm hook

Orange and brown scrap yarn I used Paintbox Cotton DK in various shades (or any yarn)

Stitch Markers

Tapestry needle

A stitch marker is recommended for keeping track of your stitches for each round especially as there is no joining at the end of each round.

Increase means to place 2 stitches in the same stitch from the previous round.

Decrease means to work over 2 stitches to reduce to 1 from the previous round.

Instructions inside * * are repeated

Round 1: MR SC 8 (alternatively Ch 2, 8SC in 1st CH) (8)

Round 2: 2SC in each SC (16)

Round 3:  *SC , INC* rep * *around (24)

Round 4: *2SC, INC* rep * * around (32)

Round 5:  *3SC , INC* rep * *   around(40)

Round 6 to 10: SC in each around (40)

Round 11:  *3 SC, DEC* rep * *   around (32)

Round 12:  *2SC, DEC* rep * *   around(24)

Round 13: *SC, DEC* rep * *   around (16)

Begin to stuff. Do not over stuff.

Round 14:  DEC around(8)

Round 15:  SC in each around. (8)

Round 16: Change to brown yarn, CH1, SC in each (8)

Round 17 to 18:  SC in each(8) Finish stuffing

Round 19: In this round decrease until the gap is closed then finish off and tidy away the ends. There is no SL ST or CH.

To complete the pumpkin, take a long length of orange yarn (50cm) and attach it to the base of your pumpkin.  Wrap the yarn around the outside of the pumpkin up through the top near the brown stem.  Pull down to the base again, tugging gently but firmly to form an indent.  Repeat this evenly around the pumpkin to make as many clear indents as you would like.

Leave a long tail for attaching to your wreath.
