Materials

3.5mm hook

Green, red or Yellow scrap yarn I used Paintbox Cotton DK in various shades (or any yarn)

Stitch Markers

Scissors 

Tapestry needle

Notes

A stitch marker is recommended for keeping track of your stitches for each round. 

Increase means to place 2 stitches in the same stitch from the previous round. 

Decrease means to work over 2 stitches to reduce to 1 from the previous round. 

Instructions inside ( ) are worked into the one

 

 

Pattern

Round 1: CH 14

In 2nd CH from hook and the next 3 CH work a SC .  HDC in next 4 ST, DC in the last 5 ST.  Still working in the same ST place 4 more DC.  

Working up the unworked loops from the chain along the underside 

(SC, HDC), (2DC, CH2, SL ST) SL ST over the next 2 ST.  

*(SC, DC, TR) (TR, CH3, SL ST)  SL ST over the next 2 ST.* rep * * once more

Then working around the top of the leaf, SL ST once into the top of the current ST. SL ST into the next 2 ST.  

(SC, HDC), (2DC, CH2, SL ST) SL ST over the next 2 ST.  

*(SC, DC, TR) (TR, CH3, SL ST)  SL ST over the next 2 ST.* rep * * once more). SL ST over the last 2 ST.  

CH 5, SL ST back into the 2nd CH and each remaining CH to create a little stem. SL ST to main body and F/O and weave in ends.
