When things happen sometimes they are just meant to be, that’s serendipity. For me, it has been this pattern. Marie has come about by a collaboration between myself and the very lovely Beki Allsopp-Smith of Chimera Crafting. Check out her wonderful range of hand dyed yarns and an example of her skill below. Beki will also be offering this pattern as a free download with purchases of this yarn.

I had wanted to make a scarf that was simple for beginners and yet elegant and sophisticated. I wanted the yarn to speak for itself and I think I achieved this.

The scarf can be crafted using any yarns and I will show off some of my lovely testers work throughout this post.

As for the name. I couldn’t think of what to name this one. Sometimes it just happens and you draw a blank. My mother in law had been in my head of late (she had passed away suddenly in 2001 leaving a huge hole behind) Any way, I had mentioned to Beki that I was struggling with a name. Beki suggested that we call it Marie for her mum. That was it, the scarf was named. It was serendipity. I love when fate steps in and gives a hand.

Marie will be a free download for all of those who purchase some of Beki’s wonderful 4 plys. Designed so that I can be made with just one ball, it is an ideal project for a gift or a little treat for yourself.

Head over and see some of her wonderful creations at Chimera Crafting and grab yourself a really beautiful ball of yarn and the free pattern.
